Rebecca Morley, a licensed mental health therapist who practices in Fort Myers, wrote a self-help guide, Thriving: Stepping Into the Life You Want. This is her road map for beginners wrestling with how to change their life and let go of people and relationships that no longer serve them. Morley’s book provides a simple path and solid guidance for anyone in search of guidance on how to develop a mindset that helps them set sail on a journey to wholeness and well-being.

“The ideas for my book came to me when I was reading the work of Louise Hay, who proposed that I could choose my thoughts, and that no matter how negative my thought was at the moment, I could choose another thought. She was instrumental in my personal journey of self-discovery, helping me to acknowledge that I am totally responsible for my life; there is no one else to blame and excuses are only scapegoats that kept me stuck,” notes Morley, whose personal mission in life is to be a healing force in the lives of others and to free them to live authentically and happily.

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.” ~ Albert Ellis

“I waste few pages on defining the problems. People already know what they are. I focus on practical applications, the value of quiet time, meditation, giving back and how to change your thinking and behavior, as well as why black-and-white thinking serves no one. A friend drew all the simple and playful artwork, which I feel complements the content and helps to point readers inward to claim their personal power, change their thinking and move into the life they want—the one in which they thrive.
