As Michele Durham reflects on her life’s circumstances, events and pivotal points, she realizes how they all fit together perfectly to form the life she has now as owner of Access Holistic Healing & Hypnosis in Naples.

In identifying the milestones of change, Durham says, “I find it interesting that since I was about 5, sitting and observing from my kindergarten desk, that one thread consistently runs through the whole tapestry of my life. It’s a feeling inside me that the world we live in is not real. We're in this theater of life, where we are actors on a stage, playing a part and writing the script of our life. Being a listener, observer and feeling type of person helps me in my work today.

“From childhood through to my adult years, my strong connection with Spirit was consistently a big part of my life. I believe it’s what led me through all my different growth steps. Raised Catholic and going to church regularly with grandmother, I recall not understanding the words, but feeling the spirit of what they were saying.

“Living in England and France, I was exposed and influenced by a different way of life. Attending the American School of Paris, I was educated with children from all over the world. After finishing high school in America, I joined the army and served in Berlin, Germany, during the cold war as a computer operator possessing a top secret/SBI clearance. Although I earned an MBA degree in computers, I knew that facilitating healing in others was my calling from a very young age. However, with three children to raise, I continued my studies in computers and healing.

“In 2007, I had a one-car accident, and in 2010, finally focused on my own health and wellness challenges/opportunities. In 2011, while living in China, I became interested in Eastern spirituality, opening as the lotus does, doing a lot of self-development work with meditation, sound healing and hot yoga. My skillset and toolbox kept expanding while I was concluding my 19-plus years with Ford Motor Company as an IT contractor in 2017. As a forever student, I love learning and teaching.

“I took a job with Hertz when I came to Florida, and that ended because of their bankruptcy. I asked Spirit what I should do next and heard the word ‘coaching’. My business, as it is now, evolved because I followed my internal guidance system; my higher god consciousness. With time to myself, I meditated and checked in with source and into things such as sound and light, brainwave healing with Braintap. I use light therapy because the light spectrum is very important to healing a person at the cellular level. I kept asking, ‘What’s the root of the problem?’ The answer was, ‘Mind, with its anxieties and fears.’ As we become more connected, we learn that the answers are in us. Healing old emotional wounds, no matter how trivial, is important because they’re telling us something—to heal.

“I teach what I learned, as well as how to do the work. I call it ‘prework’ because we must heal our mind, body and spirit first. I also teach hypnosis, Neurolinguistic Programming, spirit release therapy, past-life regression and Access Bars. I’ve taken other hypnosis techniques and trainings with several people, but the most profound was the hypnosis training with Dolores Cannon, whose career in hypnosis and past-life regression spanned nearly 50 years and led her to Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, a powerful tool to access that all knowing part of ourselves we’ve called the higher self, the oversoul or the soul itself. I work from the light, which is where we all come from.”
