Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

More than Old-Country Flavors at Naples Market

Camilla’s Food Market, open since 2008, in Naples, provides much more than ethnic, old-world, Eastern European and Central Asian delicacies. Last month, it unveiled a new store décor and layout of produce displays, expanded morning hours and launched a complimentary medicinal tea-sampling service, all to help inform the public that it offers natural, organic and raw foods from more than 35 countries.

“We wanted to appeal more broadly to everyone, but still stay true to our essence,” says owner Madina Obidov, originally from Uzbekistan, whose husband, Aziz, also helps as a life coach. “We’re especially proud of our designations, affiliations and homemade recipes.”

The market, a chapter member of the Weston A. Price Foundation, which educates about wholesome food, works with Annie’s Organic Buying Club and others to obtain many of its wholesome products. Especially known for its original half-sour pickles and pickled cabbage recipes, some of the market’s other hallmark international products include German breads, Turkish fruit confectionary delights, Polish kielbasa and Russian borscht.

Location: 4947 Tamiami Trail N., Ste. 102. Recently expanded hours: 6 a.m.-6 p.m., Mon.-Sat. For more information, call 239-653-9484 or visit OldCountryFood.com.
