When Candace Tranter-Cool, a pain therapist, and Noneen Rafferty, an acupuncturist, established the Center for Natural Healing, in Cape Coral, their main focus was to create a space that radiated a sense of sanctity and safety so all that entered would feel respected and honored.

Tranter-Cool and Rafferty consider wellness as a way of life. Their menu of services reflects their dedication to supporting the body’s immune system with natural remedies that either reduce or eliminate dependency on harsh drugs and their side effects. Offerings include acupuncture, several massage therapy techniques such as Swedish, deep tissue and Lomi Lomi, as well as the Bowen Technique, Dolphin Neurostim/Microcurrent Point Stimulation for pain management, scar release therapy (SRT), aromatherapy and energy work such as reiki. “Acupuncture and massage particularly lessen stress and anxiety. This leads to better sleep, which helps the body strengthen the immune system,” says Tranter-Cool.

A Lomi Lomi massage therapist uses forearms and hands in a fluid, rhythmic motion to create a sense of gentle waves moving over the body. This flowing with total energy, using long continuous, flowing strokes, combined with loving touch, nurtures and relaxes the entire being, assisting it in letting go of old beliefs and patterns stored in the cells of the body.

In the Bowen Technique, the practitioner uses very gentle pressure with thumbs and fingers on precisely defined points. Unique sets of rolling-type moves stimulate the body’s muscles and soft tissue without manipulation or force. Gentle, subtle and relaxing, it is believed that the Bowen Technique prompts the body to reset, repair and balance itself. This technique is also referred to as fascial kinetics and neurostructural integration technique (NST).

“More than 30,000 physical, massage and occupational therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, physicians and other health professionals use the Dolphin Neurostim/Microcurrent Point Stimulation Therapy as an effective tool in relieving chronic pain,” advises Tranter-Cool. Applied to both sides of visible scars, gentle microcurrent generated by the Dolphin Neurostim unit penetrates deep into skin tissue and helps electrically release the thickened scar tissue, as well fascia and muscles impinged by scarring. Increased circulation helps the lymphatic system in removing dead cells from the body and encourages blood flow and healing to the area. Mobility is returned, improving appearance and decreasing pain at the site of the scar and anywhere else in the body the scar has been affecting. In some instances, relief can be felt with one application.

MPS Therapy is based on combining the therapeutic pearls of acupuncture, osteopathy, integrative dentistry, neural therapy and modern neurology with the Dolphin device, which locates and applies concentrated microcurrent to therapeutically active acupuncture and trigger points for the purpose of relaxing muscles, calming the nervous system and releasing the body’s natural painkillers.
