The Crohn’s Charity Service Foundation will host two seminars on how to open a business in the medical cannabis industry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 to 9 p.m., July 23 and August 20, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, in Bonita Springs. Jonathan R. Byron, Ph.D., will lead both sessions.

Byron has a bachelor’s degree in plant and soil sciences from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a marijuana cultivation certificate from Oaksterdam University, a master’s degree in environmental studies and a doctorate in geographic information processing. He currently works for a Fortune 500 corporation in Jacksonville producing maps and has a plant nursery business that produces culinary and medicinal herbs.
