Southwest Medical Thermal Imaging, in Bonita Springs, has added breast ultrasound to the thermography services it provides. As another avenue for breast screening and early detection without invasive testing or radiation, this combination of physiology testing (thermography) and structural testing (ultrasound) can result in increased detection rates compared with either test on its own.

No prescription is required for the affordable ultrasound scans performed by a certified ultrasound technologist. Studies will be interpreted by holistically minded, Board-Certified Diagnostic Radiologist and Breast Imaging Specialist Thomas Hudson. If there is a positive result, a consultation with him will be provided at no additional charge.

“We have always educated our clients on the importance of regular thermal screening combined with structural testing,” says Taryn Kean, a level III certified clinical thermographer. “While we have had the thermography part covered, where to send clients for ultrasound has always been the question that hasn’t been easily answered.
