Florida Culinary Accelerator @ Immokalee Supports Local Farms

Florida Culinary Accelerator @ Immokalee (FCA@I) Business Development Manager Ruth Fehr and Culinary Program Manager Ahmed El, were joined by members of Youth Leadership Collier, in visiting several Immokalee farms in June to provide support for their operations.

Also, FCA@I member Melissa Bazley, of Krazy Krops, is working with a certified organic farmer in Immokalee to save unsightly-looking produce that’s been rejected by stores and providing it to those that want it in a community supported agriculture effort.

The FCA@I, a membership-based commercial kitchen and processing facility, is operated by a public-private partnership with the Collier County Office of Business and Economic Development and the nonprofit Economic Incubators Inc., and offers a food tasting and nutrition lab staffed by the University of Florida.
