Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

Southwest Florida Solar Co-op 2020

The League of Women Voters of Lee and Collier counties have partnered with Solar United Neighbors (SUN), a nonprofit solar organization, to form a solar cooperative. Free information evening sessions in Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Estero, Naples and Marco Island will begin from 6 to 8 p.m., February 4, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples. An online webinar will be available for those that can’t attend.

Open to residents and small business of Collier and Lee counties, the co-op harnesses the power of group purchasing and the expertise and experience of SUN to make the transition to solar power—the clean, inexpensive antidote to fossil fuels, simple and affordable.

SUN guides members through the process of selecting the proper equipment, ensuring quality installation, and a strong, reasonably priced warranty. In addition to financial benefits of buying through a co-op, a 26 percent federal tax credit is available for solar roofs installed this year.
