Interested in the laying on of hands since childhood, Rita Davis, reiki master and owner of Soul Sessions with Rita, in Estero, found that reiki was the perfect modality that could do what she had always yearned to do—help individuals suffering from the anxiety of trauma. Davis shares the meditative insights that she experiences from her reiki practice with everyone that signs up on her website for Daily Whispers from the Universe.

Since 2015, Davis, a native Floridian, has been practicing reiki. The Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation is based on the philosophy that when our life force energy is balanced and flowing, we are less likely to get sick and feel stressed, and more likely to feel happy and be healthy. “I began studying and practicing reiki at the beginning of my spiritual transformation. In five years, I’ve witnessed the powerful and often at times life-changing effects of a reiki treatment, which continually affirms for me that I chose the right modality for me. I use it on myself to improve my health and quality of life,” advises Davis.  

As Davis’ spiritual journey evolved, her connection with her higher self and spirit evolved, along with her ability to sense the energy between people. “An aspect of this evolution is that the reiki sessions include symbols I see in my mind’s eye and messages I get for clients I work with,” says the Lee county resident who recently completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training. Davis is now a member of the Yoga Alliance, a nonprofit organization representing thousands of teachers, schools and continuing education providers worldwide.

Davis offers Daily Whispers from the Universe, the insights she receives in her personal reiki practice, with everyone that signs up on her website. She offers reiki sessions and one-on-one meditation online and in person. One-hour Reiki Soul Sessions are also conducted in person and online. A series of seven Block Buster workshops, based on the seven chakras, are offered in person.

“Clients continuously told me that while they had heard about chakras, they didn’t understand and wanted to learn about them. I developed the beginner’s workshops for that purpose and for people to begin understanding themselves as multidimensional beings made up of mind, body, spirit and energy. I call them blockbusters because they are intended to bust all the myths and mystery around our body’s energy system” says Davis.
