Peace Day at Wa-Ke-Hatchee Park

The 15th annual Southwest Florida Peace Day Celebration, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., September 25, at Wa-Ke-Hatchee Park, in Fort Myers. With a theme of Transformation, the free, fun, family- and pet-friendly event will feature many vendor and artist booths, live music and other entertainment, food trucks, dog park, massage, reiki and crystal bowl sound baths and more.


Pre-event activities will kick off with Candace Tranter leading a special breath empowerment session at 7:30 a.m., followed by an opening ceremony by Druid Elder. Musicians performing include David “Bear” Delli Paoli, Family Music Time, Violet Midnight, violin virtuoso Luna Muni, The Markleys and B-Love. Special attractions include a butterfly tent, interactive live art and photo op stations, a Living Universal Medicine Wheel, a Meditative Peace Grid for Transformation and educational talks on healthy living. Ernel Grant will lead a closing drum ceremony.


Many area nonprofits will be represented, and attendees can donate food and supplies to Abuse & Counseling Treatment and Gulf Coast Humane Society, plus donate blood in the One Blood Bloodmobile.
