Natural Awakenings Naples and Fort Myers

Enjoy a Musical Evening with Megon McDonough

Megon McDonough, the Spiritual Director of a Unity Church in Des Plaines, Illinois, will perform a special, one-night-only concert at 6:30 p.m. on November 8 at The Unity Church of Bonita Springs. She is a new thought leader, recovery coach and a multi-instrumentalist who obtained her first record deal at 14 and opened for John Denver at Carnegie Hall, in New York City.

Her eclectic repertoire includes folk, country, cabaret and jazz. While a brilliant songwriter, she has also a curated a collection of covers that audiences love, including songs by Patsy Cline, Burt Bacharach and even Janis Joplin. Her song, Amazing Things, is an uplifting, inspiring, hope-filled tune that’s played and loved by Unity and Unitarian churches throughout the country.

Through guitar, piano and even the Irish bodhrán, McDonough takes her audience on a journey through highlights and events in her life that are both personal and universal. She was bitten by the performance bug when she saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and will be doing a couple of songs from her one-woman show, “How Ringo Saved Me From a Life in the Convent.”

Cost: $20, available either online or at the door. Location: 28285 Imperial Pkwy., Bonita Springs. For more information or obtain tickets, call 239-947-3100 or visit UnityBonita.org/events. Also visit MegonMcDonoughMusic.com
