Cover Artist- Late Day Sky by Phil Fisher
Phil Fisher, born with a paintbrush in his hand, spent a lifetime turning the world around him into vibrant art. Born in Toledo, Ohio on February 7, 1945, he found his true muse in Naples, Florida, where he lived for more than 50 years. There, the Gulf Coast’s luminous landscapes and rich wildlife became the heartbeat of his impressionist paintings. Fisher painted nearly every day on location, capturing the spirit, color and joy of the region with watercolors and oils that were as dynamic as the life he loved.
More than beauty, his art carried purpose. Many of his wildlife-inspired works raised funds for conservation causes, reflecting his conviction that it is best for an artist to paint from the heart, doing work for causes he believed were fair and just. Cherished by collectors and the local community alike, Fisher earned a place among Southwest Florida’s most beloved artists.
Together with his wife and fellow artist, Natalie Guess, he ran the Guess-Fisher Gallery in Naples—a creative hub that continues to showcase their vision. Phil Fisher passed peacefully on September 29, 2025, leaving a legacy of passion, generosity and artistry that endures. A celebration of his life will be at the Guess-Fisher Gallery on his birthday February 7, 2026.
Guess-Fisher Gallery is located at 995 Central Avenue, Naples. Find Phil’s art and writings on Instagram at PhilFisherFineArt. Call 239-659-2787 for studio hours.
