A highly entertaining and informative pre-Mother’s Day Celebration in honor of Mother Nature will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on May 9, 2026, at the beautiful campus of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fort Myers. Along with enjoying live music and learning about important environmental issues including climate change in interactive discussions, attendees will find out many ways to get involved themselves in their daily lives.

Kat Epple, the award-winning flutist, composer and storyteller, will perform in her unique manner and style to inspire a sense of connection to nature and all cultures. Expert speakers and their topics will include Gary Robbins with SouthWest Florida RESET Center on Listening to Nature and Climate Reality educator Ariel Hoover on Climate Effects and Solutions for Florida’s Wildlife. In addition, guests will be able to engage in circle conversations that can lead to action with Ann Smith, a trustee of the Parliament of World Religions and co-founder and director of Green Tent Circle. The event will also include other interactive activities for families, individuals and local environmental organizations.

The event is co-sponsored by SWFL EcoAlliance, RESET, the Green Tent Circle, Natural Awakenings magazine and the Parliament of the World Religions.

Attendees will also learn how they can participate in the United Nations global ethical initiative Caring for Creation that will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on June 27.
