Michael Monteleone, health and wellness manager at Food & Thought, returned to work on July 17, 2206, after nearly five months of recovering from an e-bike accident. On February 20, the lock came loose from the seat and dropped into the rear wheel, locking the frame and throwing him from the bike.

Monteleone’s recovery included physical therapy to rebuild strength and balance as well as regaining the ability to walk. His faith was also strengthened by the outpouring of support and prayers from the Food & Thought community.

Monteleone has been part of Food & Thought since 2005, when he joined the team under founder Frank Oakes. He anchors the Health and Wellness department alongside Jill Acker, who joined the store in 2014. Together, they assist shoppers with supplementation, whole-food nutrition and everyday wellness questions.
