Fort Myers practitioner Dr. Doreen DeStefano, DNP, NHD, APRN, founder of Root Causes Holistic Health and Medicine, is featured in a new episode of Inside Success TV’s America’s Best Doctors. Titled “The Diagnosis That Changed Everything,” the program introduces her personal, turning-point experience with her father’s cancer diagnosis that helped shape her work and her approach in integrative oncology medicine and strengthened her commitment to assessing the whole person alongside the disease.

Viewers of the episode can learn more about DeStefano and the perspective that guides her approach which brings together analysis of the cancer and assessment of the body’s internal environment (often called the terrain) and which is informed by nutrition, metabolism, inflammation, immune function and individual health history. DeStefano’s practice emphasizes personalized strategies and helping patients understand the purpose of each part of and how they can participate in their care. Her book, Biohacking Cancer, available on Amazon, explores the same commitment to patient education and participation.
