After years of working in professional kitchens, Lisa Brown founded Free Flowing Health in New York City in 2016. When she moved to Florida in 2020, she brought the business with her, offering personalized chef services to clients throughout Southwest Florida. Today, Free Flowing Health specializes in customized, health-conscious cuisine and private dining, with a team of professional, fully insured chefs who create meals to suit each client’s dietary needs and personal preferences.
Certified by the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a health coach and wellness educator, Brown received her culinary education at the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City. Her background in cooking, nutrition and fitness shaped her approach to helping clients eat well and feel their best.
“Nutrition and fitness have always been my passions,” Brown says. “I continue to run our sister business, Free Flowing Fitness, alongside my partner, Joe Bores, offering in-home personal training. The two businesses complement each other by helping people eat well, build strength and feel their best—all in the comfort of their own homes.”
As demand has grown, Brown has expanded her culinary team while maintaining a commitment to quality and personalized service. “Our focus at Free Flowing Health is private dining, weekly meal prep and private culinary events,” she says.
Clients find Free Flowing Health through Google searches and referrals, seeking the convenience of delicious, nutritious meals without the time spent planning, shopping and cooking. The service supports busy professionals, families, seasonal residents and anyone who wants to make eating well easier. Clients also include people recovering from surgery and those following specialized dietary guidelines for health concerns such as cancer, kidney disease, autoimmune disorders and diabetes.
The process begins with a detailed new-client questionnaire, followed by an in-depth consultation.
“I take the time to understand each client’s tastes, routines and goals,” Brown says. “Whether we’re cooking for an individual or a family, we want the service to fit their needs and make everyday life easier.”
These conversations, usually held via Zoom or over the phone, also help Brown match clients with the right chef.
“Our team includes skilled, experienced chefs who can accommodate a wide range of dietary needs and preferences,” she says. “We use that initial consultation to create a personalized plan and make sure each client feels comfortable with the process.”
Brown says customization is one of the hallmarks of her business.
“There’s no fixed menu that everyone has to choose from,” she says. “We plan around what our clients enjoy eating and what works for their households.”
For clients following specialized medical diets, the team prepares meals within the guidance provided by their healthcare professionals. For weekly meal prep, a chef handles menu planning, grocery shopping, cooking, packaging and cleanup in the client’s home. This gives clients the convenience of meals ready to enjoy throughout the week while freeing up time for work, family and other priorities.
Private dining experiences bring that same attention to detail to dinner parties and gatherings in clients’ homes and vacation rentals, with menus customized for the occasion.
Since 2020, Brown’s personalized approach has earned recognition, including a place on Gulfshore Life’s 2024 40 Under 40 list. Her expertise has also been featured on WINK News, ABC7, Gulfshore Life’s Healthy Life Edition and the front cover of the Cape Coral News-Press. Additional recognition includes Women’s Thrive Media’s “Top 10 Women in Health and Wellness” and Essential Naples’ “Best of 2026.”
Free Flowing Health serves Southwest Florida from Punta Gorda to Marco Island, including Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Estero, Bonita Springs and Naples.
To meet growing demand, Brown is expanding her team through a selective vetting process. She looks for experienced culinary professionals who demonstrate professionalism, discretion and a commitment to quality, and who share the values that have guided Free Flowing Health from the beginning.
At the heart of Free Flowing Health is a simple philosophy: healthy eating should be both nourishing and enjoyable.
“Our mission is to make nourishing food and personalized care part of everyday life, so our clients feel supported and have more time for what matters to them,” Brown says.
